Laughmaster The Laughmaster has one minute to warm up the audience with some humour. One minute is approximately 100 words which is plenty of time to tell a humourous story or anecdote. So what if you think you can't tell a joke? Be on the lookout for short humourous stories. I subscribe to a daily joke email service (see www.joker.org for details, as well as an archive of clean jokes). Adapt the material by personalising the story and making a few changes to suit your style. Don't forget to add some vocal variety and gestures to add some zest. Other good sources of humour are real life, Readers Digest magazine, and joke books. Develop the habit of collecting humour suitable for the laughmaster role and practice on your friends and families. Don't forget to smile :-) Feel free to send your comments and suggestions on this page to Charles Cave. I want these pages to record the combined experience of members. |
