Great Meetings

Toastmaster

Your role as Toastmaster is to take charge of the meeting in the allotted time for prepared speeches and evaluations. During your assignment, you explain your role to guests, then introduce the speakers and evaluators, and thanking them at the appropriate time.

Preparation is the key to success. Telephone the speakers before the meeting and find out the title of the speech, the time, and from what manual. Get some details from the speaker, especially their speech objectives and maybe some personal background information.

Encourage the speakers to contact their evaluators prior to the meeting to discuss the speaking assignment.

After you have thanked the speakers and evaluators, hand control of the meeting back to the chairman.
